Daily Titan: Students Protest

Apparently, students were protesting the Furlough Days (mandatory days during the semester that teachers have to take off with no pay) on campus today. Too bad I didn’t know about it.

Like most people, I don’t like the idea of Furlough Days. I mean, no one really wins from them… Well, maybe the people who are raking in the money from our tuition increase. Basically people looking out for numero uno (themselves).

I’m just going to say that with two tuition increases we had this semester, I do not agree on how the money is being spent at our school. Granted, there’s are rules on how the money is spent, according to where the money came for and for what, but, I think that our school didn’t need to construct more housing, or another parking structure. Not to mention, I finally hit the gym for the first time since last January… to find that they’ve replaced the lockers to have electronic locks that you can enter whatever code you want in. I would have preferred to not have Furlough Days and/or not cut 1/3 of the classes from each department over those.

I just pray to God for things to get better… although I know that next year’s cuts are going to be far worse than this semester. I hope I finish ASAP.
