Because I'm a Procrastinator...

I decided I’d blog right now for fun.

Been having a lot of random weird dreams. Long dreams too. But Idk if its just cuz I remember them. Or if it really is out of the ordinary. Like that one dream where me, Cherry, and Nelly were at a GCH concert at either Chuck E. Cheese or Circus Circus and we were singing a baking song (which was really awesome btw)… aliens arriving on Earth but gave us random instructions to prepare for their arrival…

I need to start tagging my blogs again. I started and did about half my blog and then I got lazy.

I should be finishing my Typography project that’s due tomorrow.

So, I told my parents my plans for Friday and Saturday. And I totally got shot down. Turns out that my dad has to go on a business trip or something for a day. So he’s taking my car to the airport. And, I can’t even drop him off at LAX cuz he needs to be there at 9. He’s flying across the country for a day. Of course, it had to be the two days I planned to go out. Haha. Good thing I found out now though instead of on Friday.

I need to drink more water.

Tuxedo Condom (Dick’s Formal Wear)
If you are going to a formal occasion, why should your condoms not be formal as well? The only FDA approved printed condom available, this thing is not just a novelty. There are times when you want to look your best, and there is no reason why you can’t still be dashing even when your tuxedo lays crumpled at the foot of the bed. (Source)

LMAO

  • Shelley: ...Are you a good witch or a bad witch?
  • Harmony: A good witch.
  • Shelley: I think you're a bad witch.
  • Harmony: Oh!
  • Shelley: Oh! I bet the house that falls on you is gonna be a sexy house.

Race

thisisnelly:

I was watching this special on being Latino in American, in relation to hispanic heritage month I guess, on CNN. And I could not relate at all. I talked to Amanda how this is basically encouraging the stereotypes - latinos are grouped together, being Mexican is a slur, we don’t speak English, we’re unemployed, illegal, taking other peoples jobs, have kids and are not married, and the list went on. I did not see any one like me. And Amanda was like because they would say I am too white. And I knew she meant it in a “this is what they would say way”, because her and I concluded that I’d be considered white because I speak English, go to college and don’t have any kids, and have a job. Some people love their ancestry and try to carry everyone tradition and if at all the language of it. But honestly, I am American, yeah I have some, although really limited, knowledge/tradition of being “Mexican” but I would never actually want to visit Mexico or live there and I’d only want to be fluent in Spanish in order to get a better job. Yeah that’s about it. It’s unfortunate that this makes me “white”. I am proud of my Grandparents and for their huge struggle to better themselves and their family, and that is the main tradition I carry from my family. To keep bettering yourself, don’t be lazy and give up, and love your family and everyone around you. I don’t know what race or tradition that fits into but that is what is most important to my extended family.

Its so stupid. Like, what’s the point in showing this kind of stereotype? I know many people have to struggle to overcome these stereotypical problems it comes to being a certain race, but like Nelly said, not everyone is like that. Why does the media portray races as being only the stereotype? Its lame.

I guess a story about someone who has overcome the stereotypical portrayal of their race won’t get as many views… it doesn’t make for good TV. What does that say about our culture?

As I get older.. and wiser… and the more I learn, the world just seems less and less friendly. The more I see how flawed our global society is. The more I would like to leave this world to the better place.

Furlough

Furlough has made me feel sooo lazy! Haha. I pretty much haven’t done anything all week (nothing that I really remember anyway). I only remember making tamales at one point and playing around with Alyssa (she’s sucha cutie!!!).

On the last day of Furlough, I decide to redraw my drawing… for the painting that’s due tomorrow. Why do I like to make things so difficult for me? LOL. I probably should be working on it right now instead of blogging.

I wonder how they came up with the word ‘furlough.’ Apparently there was a Furlough Fest at my school. LOL. Students set up tents and stuff… according to my professor’s email. LOL. I guess it was a cool unexpected break. I can’t wait until Thanksgiving break though. Not only does that mean that the semester is almost over, I get to get my grub on. =D And this year I’m going to Nelly’s house! YAY!

My dad gave me my birthday present today. This is the closest he’s gotten to my actual birthday in years. Haha. 12 days early. It’s a new 25.5 inch Samsung Flat Screen! I can’t believe he would buy me that. Its awesome. A little bummed that I can’t mount it on my wall (my parents think my house is too old for that haha) but oh well. Still totally awesome. =)

Ok. Back to work. Break time is over.
